DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Iowa 155 begins in the City of Nodaway and proceeds northerly to a junction with US 30 approximately eight miles west of the City of Corning.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑155‑0 (3)‑‑2M‑02, between the City of Nodaway and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 155 from Seventh Avenue north, west and north to the north corporation line of the City of Nodaway to city jurisdiction on October 20, 1980.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑155‑0 (3)‑‑2M‑02, between the City of Nodaway and the Iowa Department of Transportation and the State Functional Classification Review Board hearing on June 16, 1980 between Adams County (complainant) and the Iowa Department of Transportation (defendant), transferred that portion of Iowa 155 from the north corporation line of the City of Nodaway north along its west corporation line to the north corporation line of the City of Nodaway to local jurisdiction on October 20, 1980.

The State Function Classification Review Board hearing on June 16, 1980, between Adams County (complainant) and the Iowa Department of Transportation (defendant), transferred that portion of Iowa 155 from the north corporation line of the City of Nodaway north to a junction with US 34 at a point near the NW Corner of the NE ¼ of the SE ¼ of Section 5‑T71N‑R35W to county jurisdiction on October 20, 1980.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the attached description of Iowa 155 in Adams County from the primary road system.

Remove Iowa 155 and its extension in Adams County as follows:

Nodaway:

Beginning on an unnamed street at the south line of Third Avenue; thence northerly, westerly and northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning on the north corporation line of the City of Nodaway connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly through Sections 20, 17, 8 and 5‑T71N‑R35W to a point approximately 1300 feet west and 16 feet south of the E ¼ Corner Section 5‑T71N‑R35W (junction US 34).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 155 in Adams County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

Iowa 155 begins in Nodaway and travels generally northerly approximately 3 miles to a junction with US 34.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 155 and its extension in Adams County as follows:

Nodaway:

Beginning on an unnamed street at the south line of Third Avenue; thence northerly, westerly and northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning on the north corporation line of the City of Nodaway connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly through Sections 20, 17, 8 and 5‑T71N‑R35W to a point approximately 1300 feet west and 16 feet south of the E ¼ Corner Section 5‑T71N‑R35W (junction US 34).

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 155 in Adams County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
